And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Luke 6:46 KJV
I can start my day, every day, by kissing a loved one on the cheek and telling them, “I love you.” I can come home from lunch and walk in the door just to tell them, “I love you.” I can tell them, “I love you,” at dinner and again at night, every day. But if at the end of the day I push them down a flight of steps, then it doesn’t matter what I say or how many times I say it.
What is the moral of the story? Actions always, always, always speak louder than words. If I say one thing, but then turn around and do another, then what I say doesn’t matter near as much. We cannot say we love God if our actions don’t reflect that devotion and adoration. God help us all to align what we say with the things we do.
This is the key to an authenticate and genuine life before our Creator. Amen.
